Virginia A. Mennemeyer, DDS
“I collaborate with patients, giving them suggestions and treating them like I would someone in my own family. It’s also important that the treatment is fun, which is a big part of my care.”
Orthodontist in Hannibal, MO
Dr. Mennemeyer became interested in the field of orthodontics after wearing braces herself. Later, she was fortunate to have her own orthodontist train her as one of his assistants. Today, what Dr. Mennemeyer finds most rewarding is seeing the stunning changes orthodontics can make in a patient’s smile and self-confidence.
Dedicated to Creating Beautiful Smiles
There is artistry involved in creating beautiful smiles for children, adolescents, and adults. In addition, there are many different ways to get a positive outcome from orthodontic treatment. That’s why Dr. Mennemeyer finds it particularly exciting to work with proven new technologies because it gives her patients so many treatment options for truly exceptional results.
Committed to Patient Education
There are so many misconceptions about orthodontic care, and a lot of patients have outdated ideas about what is available to them. Dr. Mennemeyer enjoys achieving the best possible result for each patient based on their individual needs.

Nancy
Hey! I'm one of the oldest here at Hannibal Dental Group, so just call me Granny, like my three grandchildren do. I'm a lot like The Beverly Hillbillies granny was (not quite, but close!) on our country homestead, where my husband and I raised our two children.
I started my dental training and job shadowing in high school. I continued this journey for 10 years working as a dental assistant and lab technician. Reception and finance were designated to me at times, too, although assisting with patients was my favorite.
A career change came along and enticed me to go to college and get my cosmetology license. This I am still doing after 30 years, although just part-time now. Hard work and aching hands prompted me to cut back at the salon.
Vicki and the doctors at Hannibal Dental Group gave me the opportunity to see if I still remembered dentistry! I've been working with Dr. Mennemeyer now in the field of orthodontics. I thoroughly enjoy seeing the changes in our orthodontic patients. We're very proud of these people, both young and not-so-young, who work with us toward creating their beautiful new smiles.
Rhonda
I enjoy working for Hannibal Dental Group because they are dedicated to families. My journey with HDG began in 1972 with Dr. Erv Harder. Then I took a few years off to start my family. I returned in 1985 and worked until 2008, when I left to help care for my grandchildren.
When I returned in 2012, I was working four days a month to help with our orthodontist. Presently, I am also working as a financial advisor, filling in while co-workers are off. It is always a pleasure working with the HDG team, and one of my biggest pleasures is serving our patients – the new ones as well as those I have grown to know over the years.
Amanda
My name is Amanda and I was born and raised in Hannibal, where I continue to live with my family. I have a big, blended family with my husband and six kids: Kailynn, Aiden, Weston, Payton, Layla, and Corbin. We all love to spend time on our farm feeding the animals and many hobbies such as attending the farmers market in town, kayaking, and fishing. I love patient interaction and knowing patients feel comfortable and cared for.
Debi
After graduating from high school and completing my associate degree, my desire was to enter the dental field. I began my career as a dental assistant in 1973. After five years, I took a leave to start my family. I returned in 1984 at the same office, only this time as a front desk employee. In 1990, this office merged with Hannibal Dental Group.
The knowledge I gained working both positions helped to broaden the assistance I can offer our patients. At this time, my biggest goal is to help patients understand their treatment and any insurance issues they might have, while showing them how a particular treatment can be affordable.
I want our patients to feel they are a part of our family while they are getting their beautiful and healthy Hannibal Smile. HDG is a great place to work and I have enjoyed working with all the doctors.
This past year, I retired from the general dentistry aspect, but I continue to work for our orthodontist part time doing all the same things.
In my leisure time, I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, and spending time with my family and grandchildren.
